The Borough of Harrow Swimming Club (BHSC) based in Harrow is seeking to appoint a part time paid Assistant Head Coach to join our team of teachers and coaches from 1st September 2022 to help in the delivery of the clubs Swimming Development and Competition programmes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for competitive swimming to improve their current coaching role and join a team that is committed in ensuring its swimmers reach their full swimming potential.

Main Duties:
To work as and when required at a variety of different venues, with different squads of swimmers to help them achieve the aims required following the Club’s Coaching plan in a productive and efficient manner.
To attend open meets, competitions, camps, development galas, schools galas, teachers and coaches meetings, cover other squads and any other Club activities as and when required.
Club administration including but not limited to: promotion of the Club; meet entries, swimmers attendance, parents coaching meeting and general club administration.
Work with the head coach to produce an annual competition plan
Working with the Head Coach to ensure the Head or Assistant Head Coach attend all competitions as set out in the competition plan.
To work with the teachers in the teaching programme to bring swimmers through into the development squads and to up-skill the teachers so that lessons are producing the swimmers with the skills needed within the coaching programme
Abide by all policies and codes as required by the club.
Deal with any minor disputes brought to your attention and if required report such disputes to the appropriate club official
Ensure that all qualifications are renewed and updated as and when required.
Be aware and understand the facility Emergency Action Plan and Normal Operating Procedures (EAP and NOP) for all pools used
To follow and promote the Swim England Child Protection policy, Swim England Code of Conduct for Swimmers Teachers and Coaches and Equity Policies.
Other Relevant Matters:
- All coaches are expected to represent and promote the interests of the Borough of Harrow Swimming Club.
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks will be carried out on successful candidate.
