Congratulations to Oliver Macgonigal and Owen Roberts who both qualified and competed at the British summer national championships this week. This competition is one of the biggest events of the season, whereby the top 25 swimmers in each age group in Britain are invited to compete at ponds forge Olympic pool in Sheffield.
Owen competed in the 14 year old category, first swimming the 100 free on Monday, reaching final and finishing rank 9 in Britain with a time of 55.94. The second swim he raced was the 50 free on the Wednesday finishing rank 12 in Britain with a time of 25.86. The Final swim was the 200m Freestyle on the Thursday where he finished rank 19 in Britain with a time of 2.05.99.
Oliver Macgonigal competed in the 16 year old category which is an incredibly competitive age group and currently the hardest age group to compete in. Oliver raced in the 200m Freestyle and finished rank 12 in Britain with a time of 1.59.40.
